Loudspeaker DIY
Jobst-Audio offers various loudspeaker kits for replica assembly,
the most common of which can be found here on our website.
Our focus here is in the Pro Audio sector,
meaning loudspeakers for professional sound reinforcement tasks.
Every now and then, however, we also venture into the fields of HiFi, cinema, studio, and car audio.

General Information on Assembly
The higher the quality of a kit, the more work goes into it,which is why not all of our construction plans are fully freely accessible.
Under each listed kit there is an "Availability" block,
which indicates which information or construction plans are available and how.
Some are completely free of charge, some require payment, and some are included with the purchase of the kit/crossover.
Documents containing detailed construction plans, cutting lists, and all necessary
information for assembly & operation are always
provided by us upon purchase of the crossover or the kit.
Including DSP settings (minimum limiter along with matching high-pass filter)
These are fundamentally more detailed than the freely accessible construction plans.
Why? As a bonus, provided the kits are purchased through us.

If kits or sets (crossover, crossover-kit, or complete kit)
are purchased through Jobst-Audio (e.g. via our Webshop), all assembly documentation
is already included (in printed form or partially unlocked via download in the shop)
Fair Conduct
Development does not only cost time and materials,
but also requires years of expertise
in the respective field.
Therefore, we ask for fair conduct regarding
our developments, associated assembly documents,
kits, their contents, and plans—especially
concerning publishing/sharing them on the internet,
e.g., in forums, communities, or social networks.

Public Address
Loudspeakers for demanding sound reinforcement tasks.This area has the highest possible requirements for
reliability, robustness, power handling, dispersion,
as well as compliance with exact specifications alongside detailed and highly accurate
data sheet values, both for rental and installation applications.
Since this is our specialty, the loudspeaker kits here are divided into different
series, e.g.
- B - Series - Affordable entry-level kits for private and small events
- L - Series - The entry into the semi-pro sector
- M - Series - Professional tools for the event organizer
- K - Series - Professional tools. Small & compact
- H - Series - HighEnd and Horn for sophisticated requirements
- LF-Series - Forum speakers from Lautsprecherforum.eu
Further series are already in the works, among others for full-range & monitoring.
The designations are usually composed as follows:
Example JM-Sub15 k V2
J - Jobst
M - Series
Sub - Type of cabinet
15 - Low-frequency driver configuration
k - Suffix (h = hybrid, H = horn, k = compact, I = infra, etc.)
V2 - Version (Only for new versions involving a driver replacement)
MK2 - Model (Only for crossover updates)
HiFi
Usually, you find a lot of inaccurate specifications in the HiFi industry,
if you can get any information at all about the corresponding
speaker cabinet apart from the usual songs of praise,
novel-length texts about the design, and very subjective
and room-dependent descriptions of the sound.
Not with us:
HiFi kits are treated by us with the exact same care as PA equipment.
The kits are divided into broad categories such as bookshelf speakers,
floorstanding speakers, cinema, or studio.


Modifications
Not every manufacturer pursues the same philosophy
when tuning their loudspeaker cabinets.
Especially in the affordable segment, you can find decent
speaker cabinets with reasonable components, but the circuit design falls short,
meaning they do not sound as desired, unused potential is wasted,
or they are intended for a different purpose.
This is where we come in and offer modifications,
whether it is various optimizations or a completely new circuit design.
